Slain Alburtis Woman's Estate Worth $1.6 Million
Longswamp UCC, the beneficiary, is bittersweet about the windfall.

The contents of the will belonging to Althea Walbert, 82, who was found dead in her home March 11, has recently been made public.
The value of estate, now in the hands of Longswamp UCC in Mertztown, is $1.6 million, according to a Morning Call report.
Walbert provided for the care of her daughter, Jeanette, 59, who had Down Syndrome. But Jeanette was also killed in the family home that day.

In the case of Jeanette’s death, the will stipulates the remaining proceeds were to go to the church whose members learned of the bequest on April 11.
The pastor is grateful, the story says, especially since the church was about to sell off four acres of land in order to upgrade its septic system.

But the gift that will allow it to keep the land and still make repairs and much more, has the congregation feeling "a strange sort of guilt," the story says.
"You get this wonderful gift, but it comes because of a terrible death," said the Rev. Katherine Brearley. "People continue to have mixed feelings," the story said.
Friends of Walbert said she was always known for her generosity with cash and police say the deaths were the result of robbery.
was arrested in September and charged with the two women's deaths.
The Walberts were laid to rest in Longswamp Union Cemetery March 17.
