At the end, however, the 85-year-old educator was fired from his post for his reaction, or inaction, regarding the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Thousands of people paid their respects to Joe Paterno at public wakes, a private funeral and a memorial service, and clearly he did an enormous amount for PSU.

But does the famous quote from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar ring true here: "The evil men do lives on; the good is oft interred with their bones"?
