Here are today's local happenings

1. Want to become more of a wine aficionado? Take one step closer to becoming an expert tonight at classes held at Crossing Vineyards & Winery, 1853 Wrightstown Rd, Newtown, Pa. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and is $30 to register.

Compare 2 Red Wines: learn how to handle wine from storing to serving and compare 2 red wines.

Advance registration required. Classes include behind-the-scene vineyard & winery tour, wine tastings, instruction and learning materials.

2. The Bucks County Community College, 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa., hosts the 16th Annual Bucks County High School Art Exhibition. The event is located at the Hicks Art Gallery. It is free and open to the public.

Reception: Sunday, 2pm - 4pm (Congressional Art Competition Award Ceremony at 2:30pm)

Monday and Friday, 9am - 4pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9am - 8pm, Saturday, 9am - 12pm

High school art teachers throughout the county select their students’ work for display and for submission to the Congressional Art Competition. Hundreds of competitions such as this will be held nationwide this spring with the first place winner’s piece of art from each show traveling to Washington, D.C. where it will be displayed in the corridors of the U.S. Capitol for a year.

3. The Lower Moreland will be in action at Springfield today at 3:45 p.m. The track team will open its season tomorrow against New Hope/Philmont at 3:45 p.m.

4. (Glencairn Museum) has its Highlights Tours at 2:30 p.m., which includes a 15-minute award-winning orientation video and ride in the original elevator to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline (be sure to bring your camera!).

The guide will describe Glencairn in the context of the history of the Bryn Athyn community, and explain the fascinating relationship between Glencairn and its neighbors, Cairnwood and . The tour also includes a visit to the Pitcairn family's Chapel and the Master Bedroom. An introduction to the Museum's collection of religious art takes place in a variety of galleries. The tour also includes a visit to Glencairn's stunning Great Hall and Upper Hall.

The job of the HARB is to protect the distinctive historical character and to regulate the demolition or razing of buildings, erection, reconstruction, alteration, and restoration of all structures and exterior portions of structures (i.e. roof shingles, windows, shutters, signs) within the historic district.
