Here are today's local happenings

1. Montgomery County Community College will hold its Student Art Show - Photos from Iraq today at the West Campus. The show will feature 'Leesha Quigg: Photographs from Iraq' and the '6th Annual Student Art Exhibition.' The reception is April 13 from 5-7 p.m. In addition to the art show, there will be an awards ceremony and an artist talk by Leesha Quigg.

Iraq photo prints available for sale. Proceeds from art and book sales will support the Jesse Hodges Veterans Scholarship Fund. Please note that parking at the gallery is limited. More parking is available on the other side of the pedestrian bridge. This event is open to the public.

2. Montgomery County Community College also has Spring Open House today. If you wish to attend, it will be held at the West Campus in Pottstown, North Hall, 16 High Street. The two-hour presentation begins at 5 p.m.The next Open House is scheduled for April 13.

3. The Huntingdon Valley Camera Club Open Competition will be held tonight in the Huntingdon Valley Library from 7:15-9:30p.m.

For this open competition, club members can submit up to three color and three monochrome images, which must be matted (see competition rules). This meeting is also an opportunity to meet our members, learn about planned activities and learn how photographic images are judged.Β Β

4. The Lower Moreland Business Association will hold its monthly meeting today at noon at The Frederick's Company, 2400 Philmont Ave. It is open to all.Β

5. Do you watch Dancing with the Stars from your couch?Β  Do you wish you could be the one on the dance floor?Β  Come join us in learning ballroom dances such as the Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive.Β  Not only will you have fun learning the dances, you will get in shape doing it!Β  Individuals and couples welcome.

Instructor:Β  Amanda Spivack.Β  Amanda is a graduate of Lower Moreland and has been a competitive ballroom dancer for 14 years.Β  She is two time US National Amateur Youth Champion and is currently 4th in the northeast region adult division.Β  She has taught adults and children of all ages competitive and social ballroom for 5 years and is choreographer for Dancing with the Spanish Stars at Lower Moreland High School.
