Here are today's local happenings.

1. has its Highlight Tours at 2:30 p.m. that includes a 15-minute award-winning orientation video and ride in the original elevator to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline (be sure to bring your camera!). The guide will describe Glencairn in the context of the history of the Bryn Athyn community, and explain the fascinating relationship between Glencairn and its neighbors, Cairnwood and .

The tour also includes a visit to the Pitcairn family's Chapel and the Master Bedroom. An introduction to the Museum's collection of religious art takes place in a variety of galleries. The tour also includes a visit to Glencairn's stunning Great Hall and Upper Hall.

2. Want to be more like ? Then come out to Ballroom Dancing lessons at the at 7 p.m. Classes are held each Wednesday. Price: $90 individual/$150 couple. Perform dances like the Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive.Β Not only will you have fun learning the dances, you will get in shape doing it!Β  Individuals and couples welcome.

Instructor Amanda Spivack, graduate of Lower Moreland and has been a competitive ballroom dancer for 14 years.Β  She is two time US National Amateur Youth Champion and is currently 4th in the northeast region adult division.Β  She has taught adults and children of all ages competitive and social ballroom for 5 years and is choreographer for Dancing with the Spanish Stars at Lower Moreland High School.

3.Β  Kremps Florists,Β  220 Davisville Rd, Willow Grove, is hosting its annual Flower Arranging class, coordinated by the . Spots can fill up quickly so sign up at the Library with your payment (cash or checks made out to Friends of HV Library)
Flowers and containers provided, but you must bring your own scissors or knife.

4. The Huntingdon Valley Library will host an Opera Workshop today from 6:30-8:30p.m. This program is both an introduction to and an appreciation of, opera. Opera aficionados and those who know nothing about opera are both invited to come enjoy this entertaining program by Joan Cohen.

Cohen is a well known and popular lecturer, and speaks regularly for the opera company of Philadelphia. She is the founder and director of the Opera Salon, established as a forum for the exchange of ideas on opera. This is for adults, but children ages 12 and up may also attend this program.
