Here are Friday's local happenings.

1. The opens up its regular season today at home against Harriton at 3:45 p.m.

2. The Huntingdon Valley Library is hosting a free screening of the movie at 2 p.m. Hilary Swank stars as a high school dropout who is convinced that her brother, played by Sam Rockwell, has been unjustly convicted of murder. Not satisfied with the work of the court-ordered attorney, Swank puts herself through law school in order to represent him in his appeal. This movies was inspired by a true story.

3. (Glencairn Museum) has its at 2:30 p.m., which includes a 15-minute award-winning orientation video and ride in the original elevator to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline (be sure to bring your camera!).

The guide will describe Glencairn in the context of the history of the Bryn Athyn community, and explain the fascinating relationship between Glencairn and its neighbors, Cairnwood and . The tour also includes a visit to the Pitcairn family's Chapel and the Master Bedroom. An introduction to the Museum's collection of religious art takes place in a variety of galleries. The tour also includes a visit to Glencairn's stunning Great Hall and Upper Hall.

4. Come out to and show off those singing skills tonight for karaoke. The bar is a fun hangout with plenty of beer and bar food. With 32 taps, the Tavern is known as the go-to place for beer lovers.
