A Message From the Lower Moreland Music Boosters

The LM Music Boosters club has some great upcoming events, starting this Saturday with the Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser.

LMHS Music Boosters are excited to announce the upcoming schedule of events for the fall 2011 school calendar, with many opportunities for parent and community participation!

We would first like to recognize and thank our newest Maestro Members for their financial support for LMHS Music Boosters, recently approved as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization!Β  Maestro Members will be recognized throughout the school year with their names appearing in concert programs and public announcements from LMHS Music Boosters.Β  Maestro Memberships are a great way for busy working parents or businesses to support LMHS Music with a financial contribution, with memberships available at various levels for as little as $10, so please consider upgrading your free membership to a Maestro Membership!

We have a number of ongoing and upcoming fundraisers with something for everyone:

Our Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser is on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 8:00 a.m.Β  - 10:00 a.m. at Applebee's Neighborhood Grille & Bar at 1063 Street Rd. in Southampton.Β  Tickets may be purchased from your friendly neighborhood LMHS Music student, or at the door on the morning of the breakfast for just $7 per person for all you can eat pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee.Β  Our very own high school music students will be working hard as waiters and waitresses, and they look forward to serving you, so bring your entire family to our Halloween-themed breakfast…and please feel free to dress up in your Halloween costume!Β  Thanks to Terri and Michael Fiocca for organizing this fundraiser!

The fruit & cheesecake sale begins next week, and order forms will be coming home with the music students.Β  This fundraiser will be an "individual" fundraiser, meaning that the profit from each student's individual sales will be applied toward the students activity balance (trips, etc.).Β  Many choices are available just in time for the holidays…great for gift-giving!Β  We will need a few parent volunteers to help sort the order when it is delivered sometime during the first two weeks in December, date TBA.

Our iPad raffle was a great success last year, and we are once again selling raffle tickets at upcoming events, this time to win an iPad2.Β  Raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the Applebee's breakfast on October 29, the football game on November 6, the Craft Fair on November 12, and at the beginning of winter concert on December 15, where we will draw the winning ticket.Β  We welcome you to help with raffle ticket sales at one or more of these events!

The after-school snack bar is up and running, with sales on Thursday afternoons benefiting Music Boosters.Β  Thanks to Lisa Crandall and Linda Kline for coming out to staff the snack bar the past few weeks!Β  We would appreciate a few volunteers to help for an hour on Thursday afternoons (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)!Β  Your donation of bottled drinks, individually packaged snacks, or soft pretzel sponsorship is also welcome and appreciated, and will help defray our operating costs!

The LMPTA Craft Fair is November 12, and the craft fair is always a wonderful way to support many local organizations and catch up with friends!Β Β Β  Donations are requested for raffle baskets, and volunteers are needed to staff our table where we will be selling raffle tickets, clothing, Maestro Memberships, and will be taking orders for fruit.Β  Help for an hour or help all day!Β 

Looking ahead to 2012…

The band trip is officially headed to Cleveland, Ohio, with information forthcoming about payment schedules, activities, etc. A preview of the schedule includes a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Indians game, Heritage Band Festival, and Cedar Point Amusement Park.Β Β  As of right now with zero fundraising, the estimated cost of the trip is $700.00.

The Spring Concert date isΒ  Wednesday May 9th, and will feature guest composer and conductor Mr. Sam Hazo!

For the Grand Finale, we are very excited and happy to share the great news that the Stroup Quartet is now a Quintet with the birth of baby Ryan Robert Stroup on September 23!
