Board of Commissioners Set to Discuss Billboards, Budget and More at Meeting

The Lower Moreland Board of Commissioners will continue to go over the new billboard ordinance as well as other topics at tonight's meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.

At last week's Board of Commissioners work session, Lower Moreland township officials discussed the recommendations made by the Planning Commission regarding billboards and provisions to the advertisements.

in the township, only one of the locations has been changed. The Planning Commission recommended that there be two structures along Welsh Rd. at Lieberman Circle, but now one of those structures will be moved to Welsh Rd. near Elkins Park. The other locations are staying the same with two (2) billboards along the Philmont Train Station, one (1) billboard along the Bethayres Train Station and one (1) at the intersection at County Line & Heaton Rd.; overlooking PA Turnpike

A number of provisions were also recommended to the Board of Commissioners concerning the sizes of these billboards.

  • Billboard overlooking turnpike: 672 sq. ft.; max sign face height: 20 ft.; Total height: 60 ft.
  • All others: 200 sq. ft.; max sign face height: 10 ft.; Total height: 20 ft.
