Monday-Saturday, March 28-April 2

The computer lab in Room 102 will be open from 2:30-3:00 p.m. if you need to work on your research paper. The lab will also be open on Saturday, April 2 from 9a.m.-noon.

Thursday, March 31

Miss McDermott will be in the main office to answer any questions about the writing or formatting of the research paper.

Monday April 4

Research paper is due on or before April 4 – No exceptions!

May 16-June 1

On-site experience

Friday, May 20

The first journal submission will be due at the end of the first week of your on-site experience.

May 26, 27, 31 and June 1

The second journal entry will be due at the time of the oral presentation

May 26, 27, 31 and June 1

Presentations will be given.

Attendance Requirements

In order to be eligible to participate in the field experience, you must maintain the following attendance requirements:

1.     No more than 10 late arrivals, regardless of their being excused or unexcused

2.     No more than 15 absences. Doctor’s notes must be handed in to Mrs.Hummel for doctor’s appointments and extended absences. These notes will then be forwarded to the CAPS coordinators. Be sure to bring in the notes immediately upon your return to school. Bringing a note for an October absence in April or May is not acceptable.

3.     Patterns of early dismissal will be investigated and may result in losing your privilege of the field experience.

Discipline Policy for CAPS

1.     Any senior receiving five Saturday Detentions will become ineligible for participation in the on-site experience beginning in May.

2.     Any senior receiving three out-of-school suspensions will become ineligible to participate in the on-site experience beginning in May.

3.     The discipline policy will remain in effect until May, 2011.

Students Who Don’t Go on Field Experience

1.     Attend your regular classes as scheduled. You will be required to complete any assignments made by your instructor.

2.     Prior to the end of school you will take final exams covering all the work for the second semester.

3.     Attendance: any missed time will be made up. You will be allowed only one early dismissal.
