Coppélia Performance This Weekend In Bryn Athyn

The Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania presents Coppelia June 11 & 12 at 3 p.m. at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center.

Alexandra Kochis and Christopher Budzynski, principals of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, will perform the lead dance roles in Coppélia for the fifth year in a row at the spring production at the as part of the Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania.

The show will play for two days, June 11 & 12, at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at www.dtopa.org or by calling (215) 348-7175. And if you apply the coupon code “FUNSAVER,” you can receive 50% off the ticket price.

Dr. Coppelius, played by Stephen Hadala, is a toymaker who has crafted a mechanical doll named Coppélia. Budzynski, a Bucks County native playing the role of Frantz, becomes enthralled by the doll’s beauty and thinks it’s a real person. Meanwhile, Swanilda, played by Kochis, becomes jealous of her rival.
