“It really just feels like a win-win-win-win,” Cozy Tots volunteer Sacha said. “Families who don’t have a ton of money can get a little money back from the stuff they spent money on; other people can use this stuff again and it becomes a great recyclable-reuse thing. They spend much less money than it would to buy new things. A lot of stuff gets donated. It’s just grown and grown. It’s huge.
“Literally anything you can imagine that has to do with kids” she added. “We have toys, sporting equipment, every kind of baby equipment; exercisers, car seats, cribs, hundreds of strollers, books, educational stuff.”

This is the second sale of the year. The first one was hosted in March. There are two gymnasiums jam-packed with children’s gear from over 375 families who have donated towards the consignment sale.
“They tag their own stuff, set prices on everything, and then they get to keep two-thirds (of the profit),” Sacha said. “After the sale, we sort everything back into piles so the people can pick up the stuff that didn’t sell, or they can donate it depending on the charity that we’re working with.”
This sale has been around for close to a decade, and since all the volunteers are local, they like to stay in the Bryn Athyn area.
“We’ve been really capped just because of our space limitations here,” Sacha said. “We turn away hundreds of consignors. We fill up months before the sale. There’s a huge demand for people wanting to do it. We’re always keeping our eye out for another location but we’re all from the area so we like it here.”
