One day after the premiere of the ABC hit show’s 12th season, will host its 4th annual Dancing with the Spanish Stars on Tuesday, March 22.

The event, which was designed to bring Spanish culture to life for the school and local community, will feature student pairs performing tradition Latin dances. The student pairs will compete for the coveted disco ball. If you’re not one of the student dancers, however, you can still be involved in the fun as a judge. The results are completely dependent on the audience’s individual ballots.

The dancers are all taught by former Lower Moreland grad, Amanda Spivack, who is now an amateur international dance competitor. This year the Spanish Department has been awarded a grant from the Lower Moreland Foundation, which will be given to Spivack for her contribution as the Artist in Residence of this program.

This year’s competition will also include two β€œjunior couples" featuring one 4th-grade student from the Pine Road Elementary.

The event will wrap up with a Flash Mob dance that will take place at the culmination of the vent with more than 300 members of the student body, faculty, administrators and school board members dancing in unison. This alone should be reason enough to attend this glamorous event.

The event, which will be held in the 1,200-seat auditorium, has been sold out in previous years.

Admission fee is $1 and all proceeds will go to Water.org, a U.S-based non-profit organization committed to providing safe drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries.

RenΓ©e Van Naarden, faculty advisor of the Spanish club, will be available for interviews. For more information or to RSVP for the event please contact:
