Digital Learning Day Activities at Lower Moreland Schools

Pine Road Elementary and Murray Avenue Middle School will participate in the second annual Digital Learning Day.

To prepare for Digital Learning Day, Pine Road had a series of 4 teacher workshops offered through for the month of February on technology. This opportunity allowed teachers the time to try something new with infusing technology into their lessons and time to learn more about new technology tools.

On Digital Learning Day, Pine Road’s Technology teacher will be supporting several teachers throughout the day. Here is the schedule:

  • 9:15-9:45 – Linda Fisher’s room – You are invited to see Raz-kids in action (Online guided reading program)
  • 10:00-10:30 – Fernanda Lemos’ room – Introduction of use of netbooks with Kindergarten
  • 11:30-12:00-Diane Farber’s room – support with Student Response System – quiz on Minerals – group 1
  • 12:30-1:15 – Fernanda Lemos’ room – Kindergarten back on netbooks – Kindergarten Math website
  • 1:45-2:15 – Diane Farber’s room – support with Student Response System – quiz on Minerals – group 1

'Digital Learning Day' will be held at Murray Avenue Middle School with a Lunch & Learn session. During each of the grade level lunches, Marian & Steve will be holding little 10-15 minute sessions introducing 'Social Bookmarking'. Social Bookmarking is a way of saving the webpages that are important to you as bookmarks in the cloud, so you can access them anywhere. You can also share them, making social bookmarks a super-easy way to do collaborative research with your kids.
