Multiple Crews Respond to Building Fire in Lower Moreland
The following was reported by the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company.
Station 8 was dispatched to a Commercial Building Fire on Republic Road off of Heaton Road at 10:14 am on Thurs., Feb. 16.Β
A caller told dispatch there was fire showing at Germantown Tool and Machine Works, 1681 Republic Rd., and the building was being evacuated.Β
Engineer 8 was first on scene and reported smoke condition in the building.Β Assistant Chief 8 arrived on scene and established 8 Command, and also was told the initial fire in a mechanical unit was knocked down by employees with fire extinguishers. The fire placed under control by 8 Command at 10:32 a.m.

According to Lower Moreland Police, there were no injuries reported and the incident was described as a "minor" fire.
Engine 11 was first in and sent a crew to investigate further.Β Engine 8-1 was second in and took the closest hydrant.Β Bucks Ladder 2 laddered the roof to check for extension and prepare for ventilation if necessary.Β Β Engine 8 and Bryn Athyn Ambulance also responded.
