Fish-A-Long At Pennypack Creek Saturday

Lorimer Park is hosting the annual Rotary Club Fish-a-Long for kids over the weekend.

So it’s finally the weekend and you find yourself wondering what to do with the kids. Sitting them in front of the TV with video games will only keep them busy for so long, so why not try something different. Taking them to the local park to climb on the jungle gym can get repetitive, but Lorimer Park offers a different kind of outdoor activity.

Saturday, April 23, the Annual Rotary Club Kid’s Fishing Derby will take place at Lorimer Park, 183 Moredon Rd. The event runs from 8am-2pm and is intended for kids ages 7-14.

Learn the basics of fishing from the β€œexperts” and then try to cast your rod to catch the some big ones. A prize will be awarded to whoever catches the biggest fish. The Pennypack Creek will be freshly stocked with trout, so everyone has a great chance for some catches.
