Gas Prices Drop 25 Cents in a Month

Find the cheapest gas in Lower Moreland.

Lower crude oil prices, and cold weather, has pushed gas prices down for the third week, with the national average per gallon down 35 cents from a month ago and the Pennsylvania price down 25 cents, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.

In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price of a gallon is $3.696 per gallon, which is 2.3 cents lower than a week ago, 23.8 cents lower than a month ago and 22.1 cents higher than a year ago.

Power outages and distribution issues in the wake of Hurricane Sandy left some delivery terminals and service stations – particularly in Northern New Jersey and New York City – without electricity. Many motorists traveled into Bucks County to fill up. It is important for motorists to realize, the report states, that this continues to be an issue of electrical supply rather than a gasoline shortage.
