The see-saw gas prices saw an overall 3.5-cent increase in the United States last week, but a very slight drop locally, according to AAAβs Fuel Gauge Report.
In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.927 per gallon, which is .2 cents lower from a week ago, 7.9 cents higher than a month ago and 44.4 cents higher than a year ago.
This skewing of national prices started last week in California, the report states, when the average price for a gallon in that state hit $4.671. Low supplies, plus a power outage at an Exxon refinery prevented it from producing gas, caused that nearly 50-cent hike.
