Huntingdon Valley Fire Company Holding Open House as Part of Fire Prevention Week

Join the HV Fire Company this Saturday, Oct. 15, where it will put on exhibits to help people learn about fire prevention.

The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company No. 1 will be hosting its annual Fire Prevention Week open house on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the , 636 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA.Β  Special exhibits for the open house include:

Vehicle Extrication Demonstration: Firefighters will demonstrate how a victim is removed from a vehicle after an accident using the β€œJaws Of Life” and other tools.

Search and Rescue: Philadelphia Area Search and Rescue will have their search and rescue dogs in attendance.

Rope Rescue and Repelling: Firefighters will guide hands-on demonstrations on repellingΒ  using rescue rope, along with live high angle repelling demonstrations.

Hands-On Demonstration on How To Fight Fires: Using hay and target simulators, firefighters will guide hands-on demonstrations on how to put out fires.

Smoke-House Simulatorr: Firefighters will use the Fire Company’s new Smoke-House Simulator to demonstrate how fire and smoke act in an enclosed room and what to do if this condition exists.

9-1-1 Simulator: Hands-on demonstration using a 9-1-1 simulator on how to escape a house fire.

9/11 Memorial: Our HVFC 9/11 Memorial will be on display in honor of the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Join us as we welcome Sparky the Fire Dog, who drives around in his firetruck to greet the guests.

Other exhibits including videos, inspection of the fire company's other fire trucks, and useful fire prevention information will be held. Refreshments will be available. Food provided by Village Italian Bistro of Hatboro, PA.
Open to the general public.
