HV Offense Can't Pick Up Goodman Once Again

Goodman only allowed four hits over seven innings, but Fort Washington used small ball to pick the win.
For HV, Abingtonβs Chris Ruhl went 2-for-3 with two doubles while Holy Ghostβs Paul Buckley chipped with two hits and an RBI.

Trailing by a run, Huntingdon Valley had a chance to tie the game late in the 7th inning, but it ended up stranding Ruhl on third base with only one out.
The loss drops HV to 3-3 on the season.
HVβs only run of the game came from a single off the bat of Buckley who fought off an 0-2 count which plated Bobby Leonard.
"Ah, all I can say is that I feel terrible again for Goodman, all this kid does is take the bump and give it his all and a box of chocolates,β HV coach Evan Horn said. βWhen he pitches itβs almost like he isn't there he is so smooth. This is two straight games that with a key hit here or there, and heβs 2-0. Β

βBut it hasn't gone his way and he is 0-2 and that just stinks,β Horn added. βRuhl came up big at the plate and the more I think about the moves I made in the bottom of the 7th, this loss can easily be pinned on me, but we are all a team and we lose and win together. These kids are special and anything less then a win is unacceptable"
HV wonβt have time to dwell on the loss as it faces Horsham on the road tonight at 6 p.m. Horsham started the season on a tear winning its first seven games, but dropped its first contest of the season to Southampton Tuesday night.
