It's Election Day in Lower Moreland

Today is election day. Local residents in Lower Moreland have the chance to vote for new officials to represent their township, however, there are only two contested races on the ballot.

From the Board of Commissioners, three of the six Wards are up for election this term.

Ward 1:

Eleanor G. Schneider (current);
Robert Demartinis (running), (R)

Ward 3:

Emily Jane Lemole (current);
Tim Weir (running), (R)
Jerry Vanartsdalen (running), (D)

Ward 5: 

Francis Devinney (current);
David Sirken (running), (R)
Len Gelman (running), (D)

As you can see, Ward 3 and Ward 5 will be the only contested races in the township.

The following township officials will hold their current spots since the Board of Commissioners has staggered election terms.

Ward 2: Jill Blumhardt, President
Ward 4: Ferdinand Gonzalez
Ward 6: Denise Kuritz, Vice President

From the School Board, five seats are open, but each one will be retained by its current seat holder. A sixth spot was already appointed to Republican Steve Geiger based on a recommendation.
