LM Girls Cross-Country Team Wins BAL Title; Boys Come in Second Behind Holy Ghost
The Lower Moreland XC teams competed last week at the Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL) cross country championships. The girls came out victorious while the boys' team finished as the runner-up.
Led by junior co-captain Molly Davies and freshman Caroline Harmon, who finished in second and fourth place, respectively, the Lower Moreland girls cross-country team edged New Hope-Solebury, 38-41, to win the Bicentennial Athletic League Championship.Β
The Lions placed four runners in the top 15 despite the muddy conditions at the Tyler State Park 5K layout.Β The win marks the first League title for Coach Mary Crossin.

On the boys side, Coach Dick Rapsonβs squad finished in second place as a team behind champion Holy Ghost Prep. Led by junior Dan Alexander, who finished fifth, the Lionβs seniors β Chris Moran (11th), Matt Alexander (12th) and Mike Mangan (16th) β helped the team outpace third-place Christopher Dock by 21 points.Β
Next week Coach Rapson and his harriers will attempt to capture a third straight District 1 XC team title on the fast Lehigh University 5K course.
