Lower Moreland Seeks Applicants For First-Ever Citizen's Police Academy
This is the first year ever that the Lower Moreland Police Department will offer a Citizen's Police Academy. Applications now being taken.

LOWER MORELAND, PA β Those interested in learning more about the day in the life of a local police officer are welcome to apply to participate in the Lower Moreland Police Departmentβs first-ever Citizenβs Police Academy, which is slated to begin later this month.
The inaugural Lower Moreland Citizenβs Police Academy is a six-week course, running from Sept. 30 to Nov. 4, which will give participants an opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the world of law enforcement.
Those attending will learn about general patrol duties, specialized units, use-of-force, crime scene investigations, K9 units and more.

The program also gives folks a chance to meet the men and women who patrol the Lower Moreland community.
Participants will be able to take part in police training and then will have their skills tested through live scenarios.

There is no cost to participate, but those interested must submit an application by Sept. 22. The application, which can be found here and also at the Lower Moreland Police Department headquarters at 640 Red Lion Road, can be submitted to CPA Coordinator Orenda Geller at ogeller@lowermoreland.org. Applications can also be returned in person.
The six-week program will take place on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 30 and running through Nov. 4.
