Lower Moreland High School Music Boosters To Hold First Meeting of Year

The LMHS Music Boosters will meet on Tues., Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at the high school to discuss events and volunteer opportunities for the upcoming year.

The following message is from Lower Moreland High School Music Boosters Association co-president Cindy Ahern:

On behalf of LMHS Music Boosters, I am excited to welcome you to a new school year, and encourage your participation with Music Boosters, especially if you are new to the high school this year, please consider becoming involved with Music Boosters!Β  Your membership in LMHS Music Boosters is free, and is automatic if you have a student participating in the music program.Β  Please visit our information table in the Band Room this week at Back-to-School Night where you may sign up to volunteer for one or more activities and will be able to enroll as a Maestro Member in support of Music Boosters.

A number of fundraisers are already planned for this school year, including the iPad2 Raffle (tickets sales begin this weekend at the LMHS home football games and will be sold through the evening of the Winter Concert when the drawing will be held), ongoing Snack Bar sales, Citrus and Flapjack Breakfast fundraisers in October, Craft Fair in November, and FlowerPower will be available next spring.Β  Additional programs will be added throughout the school year, so be sure to keep in tune with Music Boosters for new release.

Please join us for our first General Meeting of the 2011-2012 school year on Tues., September 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Band Room, where upcoming events and volunteer opportunities will be discussed in detail with parents and community members.

LMHS Music Boosters enjoyed a very successful 2010-2011 school year thanks to the combined efforts and leadership of Mr. Erin Stroup and the staff of the Lower Moreland School District Music Department, school administration, LMHS PTA, students, parents, and community members and businesses who contributed endless hours and financial support to the efforts of our organization.Β  Your support brought a number of special opportunities to our musical community, including the popular Jazz Festival that featured renowned saxophonist, Jeff Coffin and his Mu'tet, clinics and performances with Dr Quincy Hilliard, including the world premiere of his composition, "Driven", commissioned by the LMHS Music Department with LMHS PTA, a trip to Disney to participate in the Disney Honors program and Jazz competition (with top honors going to the LMHS Jazz Ensemble) and more. Β
Β
YOU brought these lifetime memories to our students, and have truly made a difference for all the students participating in the LMHS (and MAS!) music programs.Β  Did you know that your contribution to LMHS Music Boosters is now tax deductible?Β  Thanks to the diligence of Vikki Trost, with a LOT of help from Lisa Class, and Conway & Associates, LMHS Music Boosters Association successfully applied for, and was approved as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization!Β  Please be sure to thank Vikki when you see her, and if you bump into Lisa in the community, please acknowledge her continued support for LMHS Music Boosters long after her daughter has graduated from LMHS!Β  In fact, please thank the following parents, LM staff, community members, and businesses for their valuable support, and please, please, please let me know if I have inadvertently missed someone.Β  It seems that a number of our contributors were mistakenly excluded from the Spring Concert program, and I apologize to anyone who was missed, and again thank you for your support:
