The students, with the guidance of teachers Mr. Greg Pezza and Ms. Tracy Dean, decided to take an underused courtyard and convert into a memorial.
Last year, students created close to 3000 medallions to honor the people who lost their lives on 9/11 in the colors of red, white, and blue. The white medallions represent those that perished in NY, the blue, Washington D.C., the red, PA. and one white dove representative of peace.Β A fountain was created as well in the courtyard. Today, with all of the medallions hanging in the courtyard, high school students came together during their social studies class for a memorial service and a silent walk through the memorial.Β
