The Lower Moreland Community Seeks A Temporary Elementary School Crossing Guard

LOWER MORELAND, PA β€” The community is looking for a new crossing guard to help kids navigate traffic outside of one of its schools.

Lower Moreland seeks to hire a temporary crossing guard to be posted outside of the Pine Road Elementary School.

The candidate who is chosen, who would be an employee of the Lower Moreland Police Department, would be looking at a start date of Jan. 24.

The individual would be required to work for a four-to-six-week period, but possibly longer if the need is there.

This is a temporary, fill-in position, since the regular crossing guard who typically handles that location is currently out due to surgery, and the end date for the position would be dependent upon when the regular crossing guard would return to duty.

The pay for the position would be $35 per day, and the person would have to work between 8:15 a.m. and 9 a.m. on weekday mornings, and between 3:05 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on weekday afternoons.

Hours for half school days would vary.

Anyone interested in the position must be at least 18 years of age, be able to work rain or shine, be able to pass a police department background check including criminal history check, and have a high school diploma or GED.

A Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance Check must also be performed.
