Lower Moreland Man Bought Fake License Plate Off Facebook: Police
Police said they found stolen firearms, money, and scales inside his vehicle. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — A Lower Moreland man bought a fake license plate off of Facebook was caught with stolen firearms and drugs in his vehicle, according to authorities.
The incident occurred back on Sept. 25 on Welsh Road, police said this week.
Police were on heightened alert at the time due to a recent string of burglaries in the area, and they followed a suspicious vehicle into a nearby neighborhood.

They stopped the vehicle, driven by Jonathan Karcher, 42, who was unable to provide insurance, registration, or proof of ownership of the car, and was also driving with a suspended driver's license, authorities said.
That's when they discovered that his license plates and inspection stickers were fake.

They searched the car and found the two weapons, both stolen from Philadelphia, along with cash and scales. Police said Karcher had already been convicted of similar firearms thefts back in 2019, making his repeat violation a first degree felony.
