Lower Moreland Opens Its Doors For First Day Back to School

Lower Moreland High School, Murray Avenue Middle School and Pine Road Elementary School were flooded with students eager to start a new school year today. 

The feeling of excitement and anxiousness were all balled into one as the hallways and classrooms once again fill with backpacks and trapper keepers.

back in August, but the school district opened its cirriculum today. Here are some key dates for the month of September:

Thurs., Sept. 8: Back to School Night (Murray Ave.), 7 p.m. 

Fri., Sept. 9: Opening of School Celebration (Murray Ave.) 

Mon., Sept. 12: PTA Meeting, 7 p.m.

Wed., Sept. 14: PTA Meeting (Murray Ave.), 9:15-11:15 a.m. 

Wed., Sept. 14: Parent Visitation, 7 p.m.

Thurs., Sept. 15: Parent Visitation (grades 3-5), 7 p.m.

Tues., Sept. 20: School Board Public Meeting 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Wed., Sept. 21: District Parent Presentation of Ryan's Story (Murray Ave.), 7-9 p.m.

Thurs., Sept. 22: Parent Visitation (Pine Road), 7-8:30 p.m.

Thurs., Sept 29: Rosh Hashana - schools closed, offices open

* There will also be a 9/11 tribute where 8th grade students and everyone at LMHS make medallions to be displayed outside the ceremics room.

** ESOL Back to School Night has been rescheduled to Tues., Sept. 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Pine Road Library (not on Thurs., Sept. 8 as previously posted on the District Calendar).
