A City Man Was Arrested In Lower Moreland Township For Vehicle Stolen Out Of Philadelphia
Lower Moreland Police arrested a Philly man after learning he was in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen at knifepoint.

LOWER MORELAND, PA β Local police have arrested a North Philadelphia man after they found him to be in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen at knifepoint in the City of Philadelphia.
Lower Moreland Police have charged Akeem Lakee Jackson, 18, with receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after they discovered he was in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Philadelphia.
Police say they were dispatched to an area near Philmont Avenue and Woodland Circle in Huntington Valley on Jan. 7 for a report of a disabled vehicle that was blocking traffic.

The sedan was occupied at the time and had a flat fire, according to police.
Arriving officers spoke with the driver and noticed that the vehicle had substantial damage to its front end and its rear passenger side, police stated.

Upon further investigation, Lower Moreland police officers determined that the vehicle had been stolen out of Philadelphia at knifepoint, and the driver was detained until Philadelphia authorities could confirm that the car was, in fact, the stolen vehicle.
Lower Moreland police ultimately arrested Jackson, where he was arraigned on Jan. 7 before Magisterial District Court Judge Richard H. Welsh, who set bail at $10,000 unsecure.
Court record show that Jackson, who was able to post bail, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 24.
