The following incidents occurred in Lower Moreland and were reported by the Police Department

The following is the police log of the most recent incidents in Lower Moreland Township:

MarchΒ  9 – Residential Distraction Burglary

A resident of the 100 block of Welsh Rd. reported a burglary at her home. She reported a Hispanic male knocked on the door and said he was a landscaper to do work on her back yard. She did not order any tree work to be done, and followed him to the back yard. It is believed a second male unknowingly entered the front door of the home. Jewelry was taken from a bedroom. The males left the area in a white Ford pick-up truck.

March 8 – Narcotics Possession/DUI

Kevin Pearson, 27, of Warminster was arrested for DUI and Possession of a Controlled Substance at Byberry Rd & Reading Way at 4:02 p.m.

March 7 – Theft

A license plate was stolen from the rear of a vehicle sometime during the day, which was parked at the Philmont Train Station.

March 6 – Theft

Matthew Pieczarka, 19, of Warrington was arrested for DUI following a traffic accident in the 300 block of Tomlinson Rd at 1:43 a.m.

March 6 – DUI

Leigh-Ann McNamara, 40, of Horsham, was arrested for DUI following a traffic accident at Huntingdon Pike & Philmont Ave. at 3 a.m. She was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood testing, police said, adding that charges are pending lab results.

March 6 – DUI

Jaison Joseph, 28, of Huntingdon Valley, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop at Welsh Rd. & Kent Rd. at 12:49 a.m.

March 6 – Littering

Residents of the 800 block of Robin Lane reported cans and cups on their lawn as the result of parties held in the area. Residents contacted police at 1:15 p.m.

March 6 – DUI

Nicholas Sloma, 21, of Warminster, was arrested for DUI at 1:43 a.m. after he ran his car into a tree at the 300 block of Tomlinson Rd. and it caught fire. The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company responded to extinguish the fire. A passenger was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for leg pain. Sloma failed sobriety tests and preliminary breath tests showed he was above the legal limit.

March 5 – DUI/Narcotics Possession

Thomas Tompkins, 18, was arrested for DUI and Possession of a Controlled Substance following a traffic stop at Huntingdon Pike & Moreland Rd at 2:17 a.m. A search of the vehicle found a sandwich-sized bag of suspected marijuana, rolling papers and a smoking pipe.

March 5 – Theft

An employee of Patriot Ambulance, at 380 Red Lion Rd., contacted police at 12:13 p.m. after discovering that $500 worth of medical supplies had been stolen from an ambulance.

March 2 – DUI/Narcotics Possession

Dwayne Yost, 33, is facing DUI and drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Welsh Rd at 3:35 p.m. A tip from Upper Moreland police said a man took his son without consent from an Upper Moreland home and was seen in Lower Moreland and stopped near Gloria Dei Towers on Huntingdon Pike. A bottle containing 51 pills was found and seized. He was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital and his child was released to a relative.

March 1 – Possession of Marijuana

A male juvenile, 16, was cited for Disorderly Conduct after police observed him run from an area in the Forest Hills Cemetery, where it was closed to the public at 8:18 p.m. The juvenile was found to have possessed a small amount of marijuana.
