Lower Moreland Reports Zero School Building Or Transportation COVID-19 Transmissions

The suburban Philadelphia school district says its health & safety plan is "doing its job," as there have been no reported transmissions.

LOWER MORELAND, PA β€” School officials in this Montgomery County community are praising districtwide safety protocol for helping to stave off building and transportation COVID-19 transmission incidents.

In an October newsletter, District Superintendent Scott Davidheiser, told the Lower Moreland school community that the district's health and safety plan is "doing its job," as the mitigation measures applied within the plan has made it so there have been zero reported building or transportation transmission incidents of the coronavirus among students and/or staff.

"While COVID-19 cases continue to be reported to the District, our ability to successfully apply the plan is allowing for a continued five-day in-person instructional model with limited close contacts having to quarantine," Davidheiser wrote.

Davidheiser also referenced statewide face covering orders issued by Pennsylvania's secretaries of health and education, saying that district personnel were recently updated on the status of those respective orders, and would continue to be provided with updates in November.

The mandatory facemask issue has been a flash point among parents in school districts throughout the state, with some decrying the universal masking orders as government overreach and others supporting the move as a way to help keep COVID-19 transmission levels low.
