Lower Moreland Students Begin "Bye Bye Birdie" Performance
Lower Moreland High School kicks off its 3-day production of the popular musical
Tonight is the first of three performances of the spring musical βBye Bye Birdieβ at the Lower Moreland High School. Patch will be covering the production, so check back tomorrow for exclusive pictures from the show.
Tonight and tomorrowβs shows will both begin at 7:30 p.m., while the Saturday showing will start at 2 p.m.
The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m., as students will perform the stage musical based on the original book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams, and music by Charles Strouse. The original film was produced in 1963. The story was inspired by popular singer Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957. The rock star character's name, "Conrad Birdie," is word play on the name of Conway Twitty. There will, however, be no Family Guy references to Twitty at the LMHS show tonight.
