A Northeast Philly Man Was Arrested In Lower Moreland For Trying To Break Into Vehicles

LOWER MORELAND, PA β A Northeast Philadelphia man is facing charges related to attempting to break into parked vehicles in Lower Moreland Township.
John-Paul Holt, 41, of the city's Parkwood neighborhood, was arrested Nov. 15 by Lower Moreland Police after bike patrol officers witnessed him trying to open doors of parked vehicles along Roy Lane and Steele Way, according to police.
Holt was seen going "up and down driveways trying car doors," police stated.

When officers stopped Holt, he reportedly admitted to what he was doing and police took him into custody, according to police.
Holt has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, one misdemeanor count of theft from a motor vehicle, one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property, two misdemeanor counts of loitering and prowling at nighttime and one summary count of criminal mischief - damage property, according to a criminal docket sheet from Magisterial District Court.

Records show that he is confined to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting cash bail.
Holt was arraigned on Monday before Magisterial District Court Judge Jay S. Friedenbereg.
The court docket shows that a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 29.
