Montco Man Armed With Baseball Bat Fights Cops In Wawa Parking Lot: Police
Police said they man caused an accident and confronted a large group of people in the parking lot before becoming "combative" with officers.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — A man armed with a baseball bat during a confrontation in a Montgomery County Wawa attacked police when they arrived to arrest him, authorities said.
Armand Xhelo, 42, of Lower Moreland, has been charged with aggravated assault and related counts.
The incident occurred on Dec. 4 at the Wawa on 2500 Philmont Avenue.

Xhelo was involved in a car accident in the parking lot and became involved in an argument with a large group of others, police said. Authorities said Xhelo caused the accident.
When police arrived they said he was threatening the others and "immediately became combative" with officers on the scene.

Xhelo attempted to hold onto the roof rack of his car when police were trying to handcuff him, and then began kicking at them, knocking a taser out of an officer's hands, according to authorities.
Once in police custody, Xhelo kicked the inside of a patrol car window trying to break out, officers said.
He faces numerous charges in addition to aggravated assault, including disarming an officer, terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment, disorderly conduct, and related counts.
