The community response has been swift. More than $19,000 has been raised in just under over a day in a GoFundMe launched for the children.

"Many of you have already heard the tragic news of the incident that had occurred on Saturday March 16th," family friend Lilia Tamkovitch said in the fundraiser. "Durdona was a lovely, kind, and beautiful woman who was unfortunately taken from us too soon. She leaves behind two young children who are also left without a father. We are all devastated by the loss of Durdona and would like to help raise money for funeral costs as well as anything that could help her kids and family. The children are now with Donna's sister but are left without a mother and a father, and could use our help, no matter how small, especially during this time."

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office urges any victims of domestic violence to contact Laurel House at 800-642-3150 or the Victim’s Services Center of Montgomery Count 888-521-0983 for help.
