A New Jersey Man Is Charged In Montgomery County With Trying To Break In To Ex's Home

LOWER MORELAND, PA — A Garden State man is facing felony criminal trespass charges and other counts after local police say he attempted to break into his ex-girlfriend's Lower Moreland home even after the woman had ended their relationship.

Lower Moreland Police announced the arrest of 46-year-old Wael Youssef, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, after the man allegedly tried to break into the victim's home back on March 14.

Officers had been dispatched to a call for a man trying to break through the front door of a residence, and when they arrived on scene, they found the defendant sitting in the driver's seat of a black BMW that had been parked in the driveway of the home, according to police.

The defendant said he was trying to speak with his ex-girlfriend at the time, police stated.

Officers soon learned that the victim had ended the relationship with Youssef but that the man continually harassed her and attempted to break into her home.

Youssef was arrested the following day and was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard H. Welsh, according to court records.

He has been charged with felony counts of criminal attempt-burglary and criminal trespass, as well as misdemeanor charges including stalking, harassment, loitering and disorderly conduct.

A preliminary hearing had originally been scheduled for March 28 but has since been pushed to May 23, according to court records.
