Obama Camp to Host Hispanic Community Action Summit in Philadelphia

One of topics will be the President's "To Do List" for Congress that would create jobs and help restore middle class security.

Building on a series of summits held across the country over the last year, the White House will host a Hispanic Community Action Summit at Temple University’s Howard Gittis Student Center on Saturday, June 2. The gathering provides an opportunity for participants to address important issues with White House and Cabinet agency officials.

The summit will connect more than two-dozen Senior Administration Officials representing several policy areas with Hispanic leaders, business owners and local officials to discuss issues critical to the Hispanic community, including the President’s “To Do List” for Congress that would create jobs and help restore middle class security. Discussions will cover a wide-range of topics from jobs and the economy to education and health care, to fixing the broken immigration system so that it meets our nation’s 21st century economic and security needs.

The summit will begin with a plenary session followed by dynamic breakout sessions and an innovative open space dialogue where summit participants will work with senior officials to define the agenda and shape the format. Members of the public must register in advance to participate in the summit at http://x.co/kd1F. An interim report on how previously held regional meetings have helped establish new partnerships and provide assistance and support is available HERE.
