Lower Moreland Police Say They Have Still Not Found Those Who Attacked A Local Student
Lower Moreland Police are continuing to search for a group who attacked a student near the Lower Moreland High School in February.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — Police in this community are continuing to search for a group of juveniles who reportedly used a racial slur as they attacked a student near the local high school property back in February, saying a months-long investigation has still not identified any suspects in the assault.
The Lower Moreland Police Department released a statement on Friday saying that investigators still have no viable leads in a case involving a student who was attacked by who are believed to be other juveniles on Feb. 2 at around 4:30 p.m. on Red Lion Road across from the driveway of Valley Center Park, which is near the school district property.
The victim sustained a minor injury and told authorities that a racial epithet was used at the time he was assaulted, according to police.

Since receiving the report, Lower Moreland investigators, led by Detective Justin Brommer, have tried to narrow down suspects, reviewing more than 35 hours of surveillance video, completing numerous interviews and meeting with the victim and family numerous times, but no suspects have yet been identified, according to the department.
"This is an ongoing investigation and the Lower Moreland Police Department is seeking the public's assistance to identify those involved in this incident," the department said in a statement. "If anyone has any information related to this incident or observed the assault occur, please contact LMPD immediately."

The department said since the assault, officers have increased patrols of both marked and unmarked vehicles in the area of the incident during the hours around when the attack happened "to ensure the safety of all students in this area."
In its statement, the police department stressed that it and the greater community "does not, and will not, tolerate any crimes targeting people based upon their race, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
"LMPD strives through our community policing initiatives to engage with all people in our community and foster trust and confidence in order to ensure immediate reporting by all we serve," the department stated. "The Community should know that our officers thoroughly evaluate and investigate all reported crimes and are trained to identify hate and bias crimes. Please help us to ensure that Lower Moreland is a safe and welcoming community for all people who live, work and travel through our town."
The ethnicity of the victim in the attack was not divulged.
