Police Log: DUI, Criminal Mischief, Theft

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

April 13 – DUI

Annelise Zitzer, 21, of Abington has a DUI charge pending and Chelsea Eberhardt, 20, of Abington will be cited for underage drinking after the two were stopped near the intersection of Huntingdon Pike and Chestnut Street. A police officer watched Zitzer strike the curb on Welsh Rd. before accelerating towards Huntingdon Pike. Once police made the stop, they found an empty bottle of Pinnacle Vodka on the back floor of her Toyota.

Zitzer registered a .212% BAC while Eberhardt's test revealed she was above the legal limit at .120%.

April 11 – Criminal Mischief

Richard Altopiedi, 70, reported that a window on the side of his garage was broken. When he went inside his garage he found a rock lying next to the window. He did not hear or see anything at the time it was damaged.

April 11 – Theft

Jeffrey Wolf, 50, of Huntingdon Valley, called LMPD to report that his company car had the catalytic converter removed from the vehicle. Wolf is the president of DPI, Inc. (1690 Republic Rd.) and told police he noticed the exhaust system was loud as he was driving it to make him suspicious.

April 10 – Theft

Charles Walsh, 52, of Huntingdon Valley, called LMPD to report real estate signs had been removed from his property. Two signs, described as 3’x5’ yellow with “FOR SALE BY OWNER” written in black writing, were taken. One was removed at the corner of Sipler Lane and Gantt Drive and the other was taken from the corner of Gannt Drive and Huntingdon Pike. Walsh said he does not believe the wind was strong enough to blow them both away.

April 9 – Vandalism

Edward Zwirn, 63, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. someone sprayed his mailbox with some type of cream. It appeared the substance was either hand cream or shampoo. While speaking with Zwirn, the police noticed two sanitary napkins with what appeared to be ketchup placed on stop of a stop sign near Zwirn’s home. Zwirn said he would clean up the mess.

April 9 – Criminal Mischief to Automobiles

Joseph Vazquez, 18, of Huntingdon Valley, called LMPD to report that someone had tried to break into his car while it was parked in the driveway. His gray 2006 Acura TL had damage above the corner of the driver’s door consistent with someone trying to pry the door back to insert a tool to unlock cars. The right-side bumper was also partially detached, and there was also a red marking and scratches on the driver’s side door. No items were reported missing or stolen.
