Police Log: June 26

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department

June 20 – DUI

  • 2400 block of Pine Rd.

Police saw a silver-blue Nissan Rogue stopped with its front end off the road. Upon approaching the vehicle, police found the driver, Kevin Martin Jr. of Warminster, asleep with the vehicle running.

Martin had slurred speech, glassy eyes and his breath had a strong odor of alcohol on him, according to police. He failed field sobriety testing, and was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood testing, which was denied. Martin was then transported to the police station to be processed and was released to his wife.

  • Oh! Bryon’s

At 6:40 a.m., a female reported her laptop – valued at $1,000 - was stolen from her car parked in the Oh! Bryon’s parking lot, 2895 Pine Rd, sometime on June 17 between 5:15-6:30 p.m. She believed the car was locked, but no signs of forced entry were found.

  • Sobriety checkpoint

Harold Gouger, of the 400 block of Sylvania St., Glenside, was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint on Philmont Ave. and police detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and his eyes glassy and bloodshot, according Gouger admitted to drinking four glasses of wine and breath test revealed a 0.116 BAC.

June 18 – DUI

  • Sobriety checkpoint

The following were charged with DUI during a sobriety checkpoint on Philmont Avenue:

Craig Scioscia, 52, of the 700 block of Welsh Rd.
Michelle Greenberg, 54, of the 1300 block of Ashbourne Rd., Elkins Park;
Donna Katz, 50, of the 800 block of Rennard St., Philadelphia;
Antonie Kent, 21, of the 300 block of Chelsea Ave., Glenside;

June 17 – Underage Drinking

  • Sobriety checkpoint

Passengers Yevgeniya Shteinberg, 20, of the 3600 block of Woodland Circle, and Anna Brodsky, 19, of the 100 block of Forest Drive, Holland, admitted to drinking once police detected the odor of alcohol in the vehicle.

The driver admitted to having one drink and registered a 0.00 percent BAC. 

June 17 – Disorderly Conduct

  • Roy Lane

Joseph Engro, 47, of the 1600 block of Pulaski Dr., Blue Bell, was charged with disorderly conduct after a dispute with ex-wife over a custody agreement. Police responded to the call at 5:53 p.m. and spoke to the complainant before charges were pressed.

June 17 – Scam

  • 3500 block of Cranberry Dr.

A resident in the 3500 block of Cranberry Drive received a phone message from Mobile International and was told it owed $185,000. Police contacted the man who left the message. The man said the resident was an international lottery winner and he should send $185 to claim his winnings. Police told the man to not call back again.
