Lower Moreland Police Log

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

April 26 - Fire

  • 3800 block of Martin Rd.

A roof fire started around 2:05 p.m. when Huntingdon Valley, Bryn Athyn, Feasterville and Southampton fire companies responded to the 3800 block of Martin Rd.

The fire, caused by a plumber’s torch to install a new roof, has made the homeΒ  uninhabitable and the owner is staying with friends.

April 26Β  - Attempted burglary

  • 3600 block of Heaton Rd.

Two suspects were taken into custody but denied being involved with the attempted burglary and released, police said, adding that charges are pending a search warrant.

A resident of the 3600 block of Heaton Road contacted police at 10:07 a.m. after she heard the doorbell ring several times but didn’t answer it, then heard breaking glass and saw a man who had broken a pane of glass just above the home’s doorknob run from her house, police said.

April 26 - Theft

  • 800 block of Red Wing Lane

A resident of the 800 block of Red Wing Lane was contacted police at 6:27 a.m. after discovering that his work truck was entered between 11 p.m. April 25 and 6:30 a.m. April 26, police said Numerous tools were missing according to the report.

April 24 - Fire

  • 3800 block of Glenn Court

The Huntingdon Valley and Bryn Athyn Fire Departments responded to a house fire in Albidale 2 at 4:15 p.m. on Easter Sunday. There were no serious injuries and there was no word as to what started the fire. Check out the video here; and pictures of the aftermath.

April 23 - Theft

  • 85 Tomlinson Rd.

Catalytic converters from four Cablet Net vehicles, parked at the business at 85 Tomlinson Rd., were stolen anywhere between April 23-25 from 10 p.m.-7 a.m.

April 22 - Dog Laws

  • 1000 block of Welsh Rd.

A resident of the 1000 block of Welsh Road was cited for violating the state’s dog laws regarding dogs at large after her dog had been found loose several times, police said, adding that the dog was last found loose in the 1000 block of George Road April 22 at 5:48 p.m.

April 19 - Hit-and-Run/Sales of Narcotics

  • Huntingdon Pike & Sorrell House Rd.

A criminal complaint will be completed charging Michael Trunk, 29, of Roslyn, with possession with intent to deliver and related charges after he was involved in a hit-and-run at 5:13 p.m. in the area of Sorrel Horse Road and Huntingdon Pike and found to be in possession of several sandwich-sized bags of suspected marijuana, police said.

He was also found in possession of rolling papers and suspected burnt marijuana joint, police added.

April 19 - Theft

  • 1601 Republic Rd.

It was reported at 6:59 a.m. that a catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked in the lot of Gutter Doctors, 1601 Republic Road, police said.
