Police Log: May 22

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

May 17 – Disorderly Conduct

  • Area of Pine Rd.

Wallace Gordon, 24, of Bristol, was cited for disorderly conduct after he was caught speeding on Pine Rd at 10:24 a.m. He was driving with a suspended license and found to be in possession of a suspected marijuana blunt and a scale with suspected marijuana residue on it.

  • 900 block of Barnswallow Lane

A resident of Albidale contacted police at 11:40 a.m. to report more than $900 worth of fraudulent withdrawals from her account, which all occurred in California.

  • Area of Valley & Welsh roads

Denise Cummings, 54, of Jenkintown, has a driving under the influence charge pending against her after she rear-ended a vehicle on Valley Rd. at 8:41 p.m. Officers detected the smell of alcohol and she failed field sobriety tests. A preliminary breathe test showed her blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.

May 16 – Public drunkenness

  • 3300 block of Hillcroft Rd.

Stephen Sliwinski, 22, of the 2400 block of Heaton Rd. was cited for public drunkenness at 5:52 a.m. after he was found sleeping in his car by police. Officers responded to an activated alarm, which turned out to be a false alarm once they saw Sliwinski in the vehicle. A preliminary breathe test showed he had been drinking.

May 16 – Theft

  • 2727 Philmont Ave.

An employee of National Industries contacted police at 8:23 a.m. after discovering that a catalytic converter had been stolen from a work van over the weekend.

An employee of Penn Valley Industrial contacted police at 8:43 a.m. to report that a catalytic converter had been stolen from a work van over the weekend. Police said the estimated cost was $550 to repair.

May 16 – Theft

  • 2695 Philmont Ave.

An employee of Weintraub Brothers contacted police at 9:02 a.m. after discovering catalytic converters had been stolen from two work vans at some point overnight.

May 15 – Fraud

  • 2900 block of Pine Rd.

A resident of the 2900 block of Pine Rd. contacted police after she discovered $500 worth of fraudulent withdrawals from her account, as well as several overdrafts.

May 14 – Possession

  • 300 block of Lawrence Rd.

Timothy Wilson, 21, will be charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to the activation of his house alarm, and found him in the basement after the front door was open.

Police believed he was under the influence of a controlled substance, and found a Ziploc bag believed to contain marijuana, as well as glass containers containing suspected marijuana and seeds, and two glass pipes were also found.

May 12 - Disorderly Conduct

Melanie Bellina, 19, of Horsham, and a 17-year-old female of Huntingdon Valley will be cited for underage drinking after the 17-year-old’s mother found the two intoxicated in her back yard at 12:41 a.m. Bellina will also be cited for disorderly conduct after officers found a glass pipe in her purse.

May 11 – Theft

  • 2283 Valley Rd.

The owner of Tinari Greenhouse contacted police at 9:30 a.m. to report that six hanging plants had been stolen overnight.
