Police Log: May 29

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

May 22 – Property damage: mailbox

  • 3400 block of Hillcroft Rd.

A resident in the 3400 block of Hillcroft Road contacted police at 9:16 a.m. to report his mailbox was damaged in the overnight hours of May 21. The owner found the box removed from the base, but police indicate the box was not struck.

May 21 – Domestic disturbance

  • 3200 block of Manor Rd.

Police responded to the 3200 block of Manor Road at 2:11 a.m. for a 911 hang-up call, police said.

When police arrived, the man who answered the door said he and his son were having an argument over the use of the car, police said. His father would not let him use the car, but the son said he and his dad share the title on the vehicle. A search revealed it is only registered in the father’s name, police said.

Police said the son became agitated once they told him it was his father’s right to not let him use the car, and the son would not return the key. The son had to be restrained to calm him down, according to police.

The father told police he did want his son at the house and police escorted him to the Valley Sunoco where he was going to call a friend to pick him up. No further action was taken.

May 21 – Damaged property

  • 3200 block of Philmont

At 10:08 a.m. a resident in the 3200 block of Philmont Ave. reported damage to his garage. The owner believed it was the fault of a landscaping company .

May 20 – Speeding

  • Area of Welsh Rd.

A resident in the 900 block of Welsh Rd. called police at 1:41 p.m. over concerns of speeding westbound on Welsh Road. The resident requested more patrols in the area since incidents occur daily during the morning and afternoon rush hours.

May 20 – Lost wallet

  • Philmont Country Club

A resident reported AT 1 P.M. that he lost his wallet May 9 around 7 p.m. on the grounds of the Philmont Country Club. He called the club, but it did not find it.

May 20 – Medical Emergency

  • 1900 block of Welsh Rd.

EMS was dispatched at 12:28 p.m. for an unresponsive subject in the 1900 block of Welsh Road.

The caller stated the male was breathing but could not wake him. The male usually takes two Ambien pills before bed, according the caller, but may have taken more, police said. No pill bottles were found in the residence.

Emergency personnel treated the man with an injection and transported him to Holy Redeemer Hospital for more treatment. EMS told the caller they believe the man took some sort of narcotic. The caller denied any knowledge of drug use.
