Police Log: Minors with BB Guns, Theft and Criminal Mischief

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

November 8 – Theft

  • Valley Christian School

Susan Caler, the principal of the Valley Christian School, contacted police to notify them of a stolen seesaw off school grounds. Caler said it was stolen sometime between Friday, Nov. 4 and Tuesday, Nov. 8. Caler also said she’s had problems with juveniles coming to the playground after hours and vandalizing things. Caler said the seesaw costs approximately $200.

November 5 – Theft

  • 600 block of Red Lion Rd.

Louis Fingeroth, 26, of Philadelphia, was accused of stealing $1,300 from his Tasty Cake Delivery Route. John Viehweger, 42, of Huntingdon Valley, is the independent owner of the Tasty Cake delivery route and hired Fingeroth to run his route over the summer between May and August.

According to Viehweger, Fingeroth was supposed to take his pay per week ($500) out of the cash from the route, but Fingeroth allegedly ended up taking the whole thing. Officers tried to contact Fingeroth but were unsuccessful. They will continue making efforts to get in touch with him.

November 3 – Criminal Mischief

  • 3600 block of Heaton Rd.

A 12-year-old male and his friend were playing with a BB gun and an β€œAirsoft” gun his in yard and shot at the windows of his neighbors’ house breaking two glass panes. The 12-year-old also admitted to walking up to the window that he shot, and punched his hand through it to break it completely. The juvenile’s father was contacted and both boys were released back to their homes. Officers are following up on the cost of fixing the damaged windows.

November 3 – Theft

  • 600 block of Welsh Rd.

A 16-year-old male and 15-year-old female were caught placing merchandise from CVS in their handbags while walking around the store. Employees at CVS contacted police and then officers observed the two subjects taking various cosmetic products.

A search revealed the female had stolen six items totaling $39.34. The male had taken eight items totaling $69.56. Both minors will be cited for retail theft.

November 2 – Public Drunkenness

  • Area of Pine Rd. & Gulf Rd.

James Ingram, 54, of Philadelphia, was charged with public drunkenness. Officers responded to a report of a male walking near the roadway with an Oxygen tank and falling several times. When they approached Ingram, his breath had a minty/sweet odor. He admitted to drinking a pint of alcohol, however, it was later learned that he lives in a recovery house in Philadelphia, which does not allow alcohol, and he had been drinking mouthwash.
