Police Log: Numerous Cars Broken Into, DUI and More Theft
The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

November 19 β DUI
- Area of Pine Rd. & Red Lion Rd.
Sana Jerkovic, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested for DUI on Pine Road near the intersection of Red Lion Rd. Jerkovic crossed over the fog line twice near the area of Shoemaker Rd when police pulled her over. The officer detected the smell of alcohol, her eyes were glassy and she had slow, slurred speech. After failing field sobriety tests she was administered a PBT with the results above the legal limit at 0.96%. DUI charges pending the results of blood tests.

November 18 β Theft
- 3200 block of Manor Rd.
Lynda Kovacs, 44, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that her Nextar GPS system was stolen out of her car sometime overnight in her driveway. She said she found the car, which was left unlocked, with the center console open and the GPS system removed. Police were able to get the seriel number off the GPS and reported it as stolen.

November 18 β Theft
- 140 block of Woodland Rd.
Stephen Wigoff, 20, of Huntingdon Valley had a TI-84 calculator and a computer hard drive taken from his backpack that was on the passenger seat of his car. Wigoff admitted he left his car unlocked outside his house. A neighbor found his backpack in the middle of the street and returned it to Wigoff, however, the calculator and hard drive were missing. All of his textbooks were still there.
November 18 β Theft β attempted from auto
- 3200 block of Oak Rd.
Alexis Kolesnik, 35, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that her car had been entered sometime overnight. While nothing was reported missing and no damage was done, it was the third report of an overnight car theft that day.

- 78 Kent Road
Amanda Lessig, 30, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that items were stolen from her car sometime overnight. Both passenger doors were open and the glove compartment was open when she discovered her car had been entered. Stolen items include: Charcoal grey Garmin GPS unit ($90), Gray and black tote bag containing items ($100).
November 17 β Abandoned Vehicles
- 2300 block of Philmont Ave.
Lee Rosenthal, 72, of Jenkintown, told police that two ambulances have been parked in the lot of 2337 Philmont Ave. since Aug. 21 of this year, but the company that owns them no longer rents space there. Both ambulances are registered to Med Response Ambulance. Abandoned vehicle stickers were placed on both ambulances, and if the cars arenβt moved in the next 7 days, police will come back and remove them.
November 16 β Theft
- 3200 block of Philmont Ave.
Diane Grant, 32, of Philadelphia, reported that someone had broken into her car overnight and stole items from her vehicle. Grantβs mother called her and said someone had left a plastic Walmart bag on her front step that contained the registration documents for her car. The bag was found in Ridgway Park parking lot. Items stolen that havenβt been recovered include: Samsung Gravity cell phone ($200), iPod Touch MP3 Player ($200).
