Here are today's local happenings.

1. Mother's Day was last Sunday, but Barnes & Noble, 300 Neshaminy Mall, wants it to last a bit longer with its Belated Mother's Day Celebration starting at 11 a.m. Come in to hear the wonderful stories I Love You Forever and Llama Mad at Mama, because moms are the best!

This is a free event open to families.

2. Who said exercise can't be fun? Come out for Zumba with four of the most popularΒ  instructors at Transcend Fitness, 591 Durham Rd, Newtown, from 6-8p.m. Snacks and drinks will be served afterwards.Β 

3. Ruth D. Zeming, a psychotherapist and director of New Directions Support Group, will be speaking at Holy Redeemer Counseling Center, 521 Moredon Rd off Huntingdon Pike (Rt 232) in Understanding Bipolar Disorder and Depression. It discusses the Keys to recovery to help keep your moods stable.

Medications, learning the importance of partnering with a knowledgeable and compassionate psychiatrist and therapist, and making lifestyle changes so as not to exacerbate your illness will be discussed among other topics.

Family members as well as patients encouraged to attend.

4. The varsity softball team hosts Bristol today at 3:45 p.m. The varsity baseball team will be on the road against Phil-Mont. Christian at 3:45 p.m.

5. Seniors, don't forget the is hosting an AARP Renewal Course for those who have already taken the two session AARP safety course.
