Two Facing Drug Charges After Police Interaction At Lower Moreland Wawa
Matthew Davis and Frances Casey were stopped for parking in a handicapped spot. They ended up being charged with numerous drug violations.
LOWER MORELAND, PA β Local police have filed numerous drug charges against two individuals who were found illegally parked in a Wawa handicapped parking space.
Lower Moreland officers have charged Matthew Davis of Philadelphia and Frances Casey of Southampton, Bucks County, with numerous felony and misdemeanor offenses after officers approached the two in their vehicle, which had been parked in a handicapped parking spot at the Wawa on the 2500 block of Philmont Avenue on Oct. 11, according to a police report.
Police say there was no handicapped parking placard allowing the vehicle to be parked in that location, which is reserved for disabled patrons.

Upon further investigation, police found that the two were in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The items were located in both the vehicle and on each others' person, according to police.
Both Davis, who is about a week shy of his 39th birthday, and Casey, who is is about a week shy of her 49th birthday, are facing charges including intentional possession of a controlled substance by person not registered, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to manufacture or deliver. The latter is a felony.

A total of 49 criminal counts were lodged against Davis while Casey is facing merely three charges, albeit one felony, according to criminal docket sheets in both matters.
The record shows that both defendants were preliminarily arraigned on Monday before Magisterial District Court Judge Jay S. Friedenberg. They appear to have been remanded to county jail for failing to post bail.
Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for Nov. 1 in both cases.
