UPDATE: Halloween Will Go On in Lower Moreland

The township has advised residents to keep their Halloween plans on if possible.

This morning Patch was informed that the township was urging residents to push back their Halloween plans until the weekend. However, township Vice President Jill Blumhardt has said Hallowen will go on as scheduled in Lower Moreland.

While there are no planned activities from the township, residents can use their own discretion about going out tonight.

"If there's a particular neighborhood that is out (of power), then that neighborhood can think about postponing it, but we - as a township - are not canceling Halloween," Blumhardt said.Β

She added that "nothing has changed" about Halloween plans due to Hurricane Sandy and that residents should still plan on taking their kids out for Trick-or-Treating tonight if they feel it is possible.

The township web site posted the following announcement on its web site:

Halloween is at the discretion of parents and individual neighborhoods. If your neighborhood does not currently have power you may want to consider postponing until it has been restored.
