Valley Youth Center Missions:
Β
The Valley Youth Center has been providing a safe haven in the community for 14 years. We had our Anniversary this year in October. Mark Bellomo gathered many community members and felt that after the beating and killing of Eddie Polec in Fox Chase, Philadelphia that a youth center was needed in our community.Β  We are all volunteer run and operated.Β  Students in grades 4-6 are provided bus transportation from Pine Road to the Center on 22 Friday’s after school. We run several big events during the year i.e. Halloween Party, Valentine’s Party, etc. We also mentor teens grades 8-12 and give them an opportunity to gain community service hours and build their college resume.

The Center also provides a place for many school and community groups to hold meetings and events throughout the year. It is centrally located in the lower part of the Huntingdon Valley Library, middle doors, lower parking lot.Β  This Center is very unique to our community. We teach valuable leadership skills, management skills, conflict resolution and life skills and feel they are ready to take on the world after they leave. This is a great experience to have the teenagers interacting with the younger students in our community.
