Weather Service Issues Thunderstorm Watch

Thunderstorms possible on top of excessive heat and poor air quality.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the surrounding area including Bucks and Montgomery counties.

The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.

In addition, a code orange air quality alert and an excessive heat warning remain in effect.

Here's the local forecast:

  • Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. West wind between 5 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday: A slight chance of showers between 8am and 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 66. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
