Delaware Woman Arrested In Lower Moreland For Trying To Cash Fraudulent Check At TD Bank

Amber Nicole Malinowski was arrested by Lower Moreland Police while allegedly trying to cash a fraudulent check at a local TD Bank branch.

LOWER MORELAND, PA β€” Local police have announced the arrest of a Delaware woman who allegedly attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a local bank branch late last month.

Lower Moreland police said that Amber Nicole Malinowski, 25, of Dover, DE, was arrested on Sept. 23 after employees with the TD Bank on Philmont Avenue reported a fraud in progress.

When officers arrived on scene, they arrested Malinowski, who police said was in the act of attempting to obtain money from a bank account using a fraudulent and altered check that had been written out to her.

Malinowski was transported to the Lower Moreland Police station, where she was also booked on drug charges since officers says they found her to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Records from magisterial district court show that Malinowski has been charged with numerous felony accounts including forgery and access device fraud, as well as misdemeanor counts of identify theft, theft by deception, possessing access device knowing counterfeit/altered, and misdemeanor drug and drug paraphernalia possession counts.

The criminal docket sheet shows that Malinowski had a preliminary arraignment on Sept. 23 before Magisterial District Judge Patricia Zaffarano followed by an Oct. 11 preliminary hearing, at which time Malinowski was held for court on all charges except for one of the felony counts, which court records show was withdrawn.

The record shows that Malinowski was subsequently released on unsecured bail and that the case has since been transferred over to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
